Flower Power 2.0

Hello Makeup Friends,

I know it has been a while since I have posted a look, but today I bring you this fun look for summer! A while back I did a look called Flower Power that became one of the favorite looks on the blog. Recently, I kept getting requests to revisit the look, and so here it is! I used a different color combo to change it up, so I would not call this an exact replica of the look, just a new interpretation of it. Read on for products used and tips:

Natural Light:

For the eyes and cheeks, I used my beloved Kryolan Viva Brilliant Color Palette :
I know this is a pro product that is not easy to purchase, but you can use any of the 88 or 120  Coastal Scents palettes .

For the face I used my Eve Pearl foundation that I constantly rave about, but folks, no matter what I try, I always come back to it! The lips were kept pretty natural, I used chap-stick and a tiny bit of clear gloss on the center.

Now for the tips:

  • When it comes to bright and colorful looks like this, it's best to just focus on one feature (in this case the eyes,) and keep the rest of the face simple.
  • Use colors that make you look and feel prettier! For a simpler version, use your 2 favorite bright colors and line the top lid with one and the bottom with another.
  • Don't over blend! I know i'm always saying blend, blend, blend, but in this case you can't blend too much or you lose the definition of the different colors.
  • Lastly, Have fun and don't be afraid of color! Remember makeup can be wiped off at the end of the day. :)
Thank you to my photographer friend from MiguePhoto for taking these quick shots :)

Easy Breezy Summer Look

Whenever I go away for a Summer Vacation, I try to keep my makeup as simple as possible. Now that I'm a mom, I have even less time to do my makeup and I hate to waste away time that I could be spending out having fun. This look is my go to look for the summer months. I just modify it to whatever color I'm feeling at the moment. Read on for some tips to do a quick and easy Summer Makeup Look.

Mini Tutorial:

For the eyes I used my UD Volume II Book of Shadows. This is an easy look to achieve, just apply a golden eyeshadow to the lid and a Bronze/Brown shade to the crease. Line the top lash line using a Gold eyeliner like UD 24/7 pencil in El Dorado. Now grab your favorite colorful Eyeliner and use it to line your bottom lash line ( I used UD 24/7 Pencil in Electric, a bright teal blue.) For the Face I used my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and to achieve the sun kissed cheeks I used my Nars "The Multiple" in Orgasm. Apply your favorite pink Lipgloss and you are ready to go have some Summer fun!

So, what's your Go-To summer look?

Photo shoot: frilly, dreamy, vintage, & sweet...

This photo shoot was done by yours truly! The girl seen in these pictures is a future graduating senior of the C/O 2011. She was interested in getting her makeup done and having her senior pictures taken. However she didn’t want traditional senior pictures, rather pictures that reflected herself and the theme of her party, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. So, I found the perfect opportunity to shoot my own photo shoot! I love photography! Problem is that I don’t own a professional camera nor have training. But, a good friend lend me his camera and gave me a crash course.

I really enjoyed styling and staging this photo shoot and I hope you all enjoy the pictures and makeup. My message to all is to be creative, challenge yourself, and find your inner Picasso! Always remember "Art is not so much expressing oneself, as it is discovering oneself".

Reader Requested- Modern Pinup for Spring

Hello Readers,

As requested by blog reader Glamorosa, here is an easy daytime pinup look. This makeup looks great and is very in for Spring and it does not have to be reserved for special events like the more dramatic looks. It's an electric blue liner, paired with a vibrant red lip. This look is very simple to achieve, just follow my instructions for the Pinup look, but use a bright liner instead and skip the lashes. Read on for Products used.

Spring Look- Pink and Violet Surprise!

This is the 2nd look for the spring series. This one is also bright and colorful, but I used a different style and color combo. I used frosty pink, violet, and deep purple, but the surprise is that I added a pop of ocean blue. I really like how all the colors look together. To finish off the look, I added a bright Pink lip stick and gloss. I have to say this is one of my favorite looks I have done in a while. I got lots of compliments on my makeup that day. Try it yourself and maybe you will get compliments too! Enjoy :)

Click on Read More to find out the products I used AND  for a mini review....

Products Used:

Face:
Temptu: AirPod Foundation, Airpod Bronzer (The new one,) Airpod Blush in Washed Rose, Airpod Highlighte in Pink Pearl

Eyes: Inglot  Eyeshadows, Eve Pearl Liquid Liner, Benefit Bad Gal Mascara

Lips: NYX "Doll" Lipstick
MUFE Lab Shine Lip Gloss Diamond Collection D2

Mini Review:
I recently purchased the new Temptu Airpod Bronzer and I am in Love with it! You can use it to contour, to add a sheer highlight, to give yourself a tan. It also looks beautiful on the décolletage and collarbone. I really like it because it gives a very natural glow to the face and since I don't ever go tanning (don't want the early wrinkles or skin cancer,)  it allows me to look like I got a tan. Please, as an esthetician, I beg you, WEAR SUNSCREEN always!!! Anyway, back to the review, I absolutely recommend it to any of you that already have the TEMPTU machine.

Spring Look- Bright Greens and Blues

Spring is my favorite season, not only because of the weather, but because of the makeup. I love wearing fun colorful makeup looks. With that said, I will be doing a series of spring looks for the blog just in time for all of you to wear them out during the season.

The first look is this bright green and blue look that's a bit dramatic, but remember you can always do the same thing, but tone it down using colors that are not as strong. It honestly took just a few minutes to do the eyes, so keep reading for the instructions.

See more on this post by clicking "Read More" below!

If you are not into such colorful makeup, don't worry there will be something for you too coming next week, a more subtle take on spring.

Click on for Instructions...

Instructions for the Eyes:
  1. After priming your lid, apply a lime green shadow on the inner half of your lid.
  2. Apply your favorite light and bright blue shadow on the other half extending the color on the crease. Make sure you blend in the color with the green.
  3. Now grab a darker blue color and use to define the outer corner and the crease. (apply this on top of the bright blue you had used on the crease.)
  4. Blend it all so that there are no harsh lines.
  5. Use a liner brush to line the lower lash line following the same color order.
  6. Apply Mascara and you are done with the eyes!

Wasn't that easy and quick?! I hope you have as much fun as I did while wearing this makeup look!
