SEXY NIGHT LOOK Feat WET AND WILD NIGHT ELF PALETTE

Blues, Violets and Lullabies?

In between diaper changes and breastfeeding, I found a little time to do a quick colorful look while listening to lullabies with the baby. Now that she is 3 weeks old and we have more or less settled in I plan to continue bringing lots of looks for all of you to recreate at home.

This week I bring you this cute look that I created rather fast. I just sat in front of the makeup mirror, pulled out my NAKED pigments and came up with this:

Instructions

For those of you that wish to recreate this look:

1. Apply black eyeshadow on the outer V of the crease blending it out along the rest of the crease. (This serves as a base to give more depth to the brighter colors.)
2. Lightly apply a maroon eyeshadow directly above the black eyeshadow and blend them together to create the smoked out effect you can see in the pictures.
3. Now apply a Marine Blue color on the outer part of the lid and bring it out to the outer V blending it together with the black eyeshadow.
4. Apply an opalescent Violet color on the middle part of the lid.
5. Find a bright Aqua blue and apply it on the inner part of the lid.
6. As always make sure to blend all the colors so that the look flows, and it doesn't look too harsh.
7. Now apply a cool toned green liner on the bottom lash line, but don't bring it all the way to the inside corner.
8. Use a gold pencil to line just the inside corner of the bottom lash line, apply your favorite mascara and you are done with this fun colorful look!

As for the lips, use a pink lipstick that is close to, but lighter than your natural lip color so that the lips don't clash with the eyes.

I hope you have fun recreating your own version of this fun and quick look. You can follow the same instructions, but use basically any colors you want that compliments your eye color. Be creative!!

HELP!! WHAT'S MY SKIN TYPE???

MARC JACOBS had the idea now let me break it down!

Hey Blossoms,


So today's blog is all about skin types. Many people are unsure of exactly what there skin type is because they may see dryness one day, oiliness on another and thus they become confused; thats okay because SKIN CHANGES!!! Your skin sheds and replenishes itself daily! Your skin may not ever stick to one "type" and actually juggle between 2 or more.


Skin is the biggest organ on the human body. It protects us(our first line of defense!) and helps us regulate our body temperature. With such huge responsibilities we MUST treat our skin with tender love and care! 
I'm going to reveal to you how. First lets discuss each skin "TYPE".


 I use the word "TYPE" very loosely. Our skin is as unique as our DNA, fingerprints and personality no 2 people have the SAME skin. I understand how difficult it can be to maintain our skin with all its uniqueness. It can get tricky thats why you must be vigilant in finding out what works best for YOU! There are many products out there that promise to do a plethora of things. How do you sort through it all?! Understanding your skin type is the first way. Let's get started...


NORMAL SKIN


This "type" of skin is characterized by an even texture that appears supple and is smooth. This skin has a balance of moisture and oil never really appearing dry or oily. The pores of this skin is small and therefore usually has very few blemishes or acne. The small pores make it difficult for oil, dirt, germs and dead skin cells to get trapped there to create any bacteria that causes acne or blemishes. 


DRY SKIN


This "type" of skin is characterized by a dry textures that appears parched or "thirsty" and is usually flakey. This skin has difficulty retaining moisture and producing natural oils that hydrate the skin and keep it moisturized, leading to fine lines and wrinkles. If not properly maintained this skin can age faster and has an even more difficult time during colder weather. 


OILY SKIN


This "type" of skin is characterized by the overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands(the glands that produce oil on the face). This skin can range from being me slightly oily to extremely oily. This skin attracts dirt, dust and germs from the outside environment and must always be cleansed on a regular basis to combat its susceptibility to black heads, white heads, acne, blemishes and pimples. Don't fret this type of skin is also known to age slower and have less wrinkles and fine lines.


COMBINATION SKIN


This "type" of skin is characterized by oily and dry parts on the skin. This skin is the most common and the oily part is usually the T zone area which consists of the forehead, nose, upper lip and chin and for some even the cheeks. Usually the cheeks are the dry areas. This skin needs to accommodate  both "types" to the skin.


SENSITIVE SKIN


This "type" of skin is characterized by a fine texture. It is extremely sensitive to weather and products. Any irritations show up on this skin. The best bet is to use all natural products or products free of dye, perfumes, chemicals or synthetic ingredients!

Enchanting Earth Tones

For this look I wanted to create a night look with earth tones that although simple, exuded elegance and glamour. I love how the berry lips contrast with the earthy eyeshadows.  I used the Kat Von D Ludwig palette (the review for it is in the previous post.) Products used:

Face: 

Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer ( I wanted a dewy look and for some of the freckles to show through.) 

Eve Pearl Salmon concealer trio

MUFE HD powder (only on the Tzone)

Eyes:
Kat Von D Ludwig Palette- used the golds, greens, and brown.
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in the color Stash (a mossy green)
Mascara- Benefit Badgal

Cheeks:
Eve Pearl HD Cream Blush Trio
NARS the Multiple in Orgasm

Lips:
Mixed these two colors:
NYX lipstick in Black Cherry ( a deep dark berry color)
Benefit Wild Card lipstick  (a brick red color)
No Lip-liner to keep the look dewy and ethereal.

As you can see not a lot of products were used to create this look. I want all of you to give this a try and make it your own. Have fun!
