Graduation Makeup and Hair

This is a very special post! Here we have my beautiful cousin Janelly. I was honored when she called me to do her hair and makeup for her graduation party. Janelly is what I consider a classic beauty. She wanted her makeup to look elegant but not overly done and her hair in an Updo. I love making someone feel special and beautiful on their special day, but love it even more when it's for a loved one.

This intricate Updo took me about 90 minutes. I curled her hair and strategically pined up her curls. Then I adorned her hair with two swarovski hair clips. Here are a few pictures of the Updo:

Nicki Minaj inspired Makeover

This week I bring you this fun and modern take on a Pinup look.

Here is the inspiration picture:

See more on this post by clicking "Read More" below!

Our version of the look:

Before the Magic of Makeup:

To create the hot pink lips I lined the entire lip using MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lipliner in Fuschia 16C. I love the Aqua Lip liners, a staple in my makeup Kit, they will last all day and night! After lining the lips, I applied Inglot Lipstick #69 (a hot pink from the Freedom Palette.) I applied a sparkly lipgloss to the center of the lip and Voila!

Thank you Tahiris :)

Photo shoot: frilly, dreamy, vintage, & sweet...

This photo shoot was done by yours truly! The girl seen in these pictures is a future graduating senior of the C/O 2011. She was interested in getting her makeup done and having her senior pictures taken. However she didn’t want traditional senior pictures, rather pictures that reflected herself and the theme of her party, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. So, I found the perfect opportunity to shoot my own photo shoot! I love photography! Problem is that I don’t own a professional camera nor have training. But, a good friend lend me his camera and gave me a crash course.

Style 1:
Makeup: Soft makeup with rosy lips and false lashes for a flirty effect

Style 2:
Makeup: 50's Inspired Wing'd eyes paired with dramatic red lips
Style 3:
Makeup: Purple and Pink eyes paired with frosted lips and glowing skin
I really enjoyed styling and staging this photo shoot and I hope you all enjoy the pictures and makeup. My message to all is to be creative, challenge yourself, and find your inner Picasso! Always remember "Art is not so much expressing oneself, as it is discovering oneself".

Giveaway announcement!

Avant Garde Look done by me :)

Hello Makeup Friends,

The website is finally up!!!! There are still some minor tweaks to be done, but I decided to put it live so that you can all see it. I am very proud of the work that I have done through the years and I am happy to now have a website that showcases this.

We received a lot of entries for the giveaway, but unfortunately a lot of you did not read the instructions, because we got lots of Email entries, but not as many followers. I know a lot of you thought that the colors would be Pink, White and Black, but as you can see I went with a completely different color scheme.

The official Giveaway winner is blog follower Miranda!!! I have the box here ready to go and will be dropping it off at the post office later today. Congratulations!

I want to give a special thanks to Carlos, of  SBM Design Firm for his fabulous work in designing and creating the Adorned Faces website. I recommend them to any of you that are in need of a website or any marketing products.

Reader Requested- Modern Pinup for Spring

Hello Readers,
I know I have not posted a new look for a few weeks, but I have been so busy applying makeup on others, that I hadn't found the time to log on and post. I missed you all!
As requested by blog reader Glamorosa, here is an easy daytime pinup look. This makeup looks great and is very in for Spring and it does not have to be reserved for special events like the more dramatic looks. It's an electric blue liner, paired with a vibrant red lip. This look is very simple to achieve, just follow my instructions for the Pinup look, but use a bright liner instead and skip the lashes. Read on for Products used.

See more on this post by clicking "Read More" below!

Products Used:
Face- Temptu Foundation, Highlighter and Blush

Lips: NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Tribute to Marilyn" applied using my index finger, to make it look kinda messy and not as perfect.

Eyes: Coastal Scents Warm Palette, MUFE Aqua Cream #20 as a liner, Urban Decay "Yeyo" ( a white pencil to line the waterline) and Benefit Bad Gal Mascara.

Have a great Day and as always, Have fun creating your own version of this look. Remember, you can always submit any requests for looks by email and I will try my best to comply.

IECSC-International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conferences

Hello dear makeup friends,

This past week we attended the International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conferences in Fort Lauderdale. The IECSC is considered one of the premier Spa and Makeup events offered for licensed Estheticians, Makeup Artists, Spa Professionals, Skin care specialists, and Plastic Surgeons.

We took advantage of the Makeup classes being offered and made sure to attend most of them. As you know, I like to stay on top of the newest techniques and information out there. You can never know too much!

This event is not open to the public, so we figured we would take pictures to show all of you what goes on when industry professionals get together to network and to learn the newest techniques and trends. Scroll down for a picture diary of the highlights and also slideshows at the end of the post.

Here we are when we had just arrived, eager to learn!

Our favorite classes:
Our favorite Class: Aqua Color. We learned the techniques on how to use the Kryolan Aqua Colors, specifically for TV and Fashion Shows.
Here is the model with half of her face completed. Gorgeous colors!
We wasted no time chatting up the fabulous teacher, the famous Dominic Cruz, head makeup artist for Kryolan Professional and lets not forget the head makeup artist for the Mrs. Universe pageant. He is so humble and sweet and even took the time to help me pick out specific Kryolan products for my ever evolving Makeup Kit. Thanks Dominic :)
The models for another one of our favorite classes we enjoyed: Ebony and Ivory
This class had great techniques on how to apply flawless HD makeup on all skin tones.
Here is Eleni with the teacher for the "ebony" portion of the class: Buntricia Bastian, International Celeb Makeup Artist  and Master Educator for all Sandal's and Beaches Resorts.
We loved this drama- filled class about HD makeup for Mature Skin.
The instructor was Gabriel Noda, the President of Gabriel Productions.
Check out his awesome website Here!

Here are some pictures of our Haul. We tried really hard not to over spend, but I don't think we succeeded :) What do you think? ;)

Lots of Eve Pearl and NAKED! They had and awesome Pro Discount!
And of course a lot of Kryolan, because that brand is so hard to find!
And our favorite purchase of the day:
The amazing Clarisonic Pro. Can't wait to get it in the mail and review it for all of you.

Check out the slideshow for more pictures of the event. The truth is that we barely took pictures of the actual trade floor, because we were so busy trying all the awesome products and making our purchases. You can click here to get more information about the show and the over 200 exhibitors.

If you want to take a look at my favorite conference exclusively about Makeup, take a look at this Slideshow from when I attended last year's The Artist Summit in Miami. This was an intense 3 day event offering lots of seminars and workshops taught by famous Makeup Artists like Kevin James Bennet, James Vincent, Eve Pearl, Koren Zander, Danielle Fonseca and many more.

I hope you all enjoyed the long post. We will be doing reviews for some our favorite purchases, so make sure to check back in for that.
